School Of Rock Sued For Firing 'Unhip' 40-Year-Old Teacher

Law360, New York (March 1, 2013, 9:42 PM EST) -- A vocal teacher hit musical education outfit School of Rock with a lawsuit Thursday in California court, claiming she was harassed because of her age and fired for not being “young and hip” enough to work there.

The suit alleges music directors and other officials at the performance-based music program, founded by musician Paul Green, discriminated against Lisa Marie Maestas because of her age and routinely paid employees who were under the age of 40 more than those who were older than 40.
