Seagate's $630M Trade Secrets Win Reinstated

Law360, Los Angeles (July 22, 2013, 10:57 PM EDT) -- A Minnesota state appeals court Monday reinstated a $630 million arbitration judgment for hard drive maker Seagate Technology LLC in its trade secrets suit against rival Western Digital Corp. and one of its workers formerly employed by Seagate.

Seagate previously won a sanctions award against its competitor by an arbitrator who determined that Western Digital had falsified evidence regarding the trade secrets. A lower court held last fall that the arbitrator hadn't fully considered Western Digital's defenses.
