Law360, New York (January 26, 2017, 12:14 PM EST) -- President Donald Trump has appointed Republican Philip A. Miscimarra as acting chairman of the National Labor Relations Board, the agency confirmed Thursday.

Miscimarra, the sole Republican on the labor board, was nominated by Barack Obama in April 2013 and appointed to a four-year term that August. He is taking over the chairmanship from Democrat Mark Gaston Pearce, who joined the NLRB in April 2010 and was named chairman by Barack Obama in August 2011.
