NLRB Snips Loyola Theology Teachers From Bargaining Unit

Law360, New York (March 16, 2017, 7:54 PM EDT) -- A split National Labor Relations Board ruled Thursday that members of Loyola University Chicago’s Theology Department must be excluded from a proposed bargaining unit, with the board's dissenting chair taking the far broader position that none of the school’s adjunct faculty members are covered by federal labor law since Loyola is a religiously affiliated institution.
