Senate Confirms Faegre Baker's Wheeler For EPA's No. 2 Post
By Keith Goldberg (April 12, 2018, 4:33 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate on Thursday confirmed Faegre Baker Daniels LLP attorney and lobbyist Andrew Wheeler to serve as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's deputy administrator, putting in place a potential replacement who could step in as acting EPA chief if Administrator Scott Pruitt is fired or steps aside.
Wheeler, who had been the co-head of Faegre Baker Daniels' energy and natural resources practice, was confirmed by a 53-45 vote Thursday afternoon, just hours after the Senate voted to limit debate on his nomination.
