EPA, DOT To Review Obama-Era Auto Emissions Standards

Law360, New York (August 10, 2017, 8:38 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Transportation are reconsidering Obama-era standards on greenhouse gas emissions for 2022 to 2025 model cars and light trucks, which automakers said were too tough to meet, according to a notice opening comment period published Thursday.

The review is a rebuke to the Obama administration’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas pollution from the transportation sector and deal with climate change, and is the latest in a series of Trump administration actions that would ease regulatory obligations on industry....
