Defamation Suit Against John Oliver Remanded To W.Va.

Law360, New York (August 11, 2017, 4:31 PM EDT) -- A West Virginia federal judge on Thursday remanded to state court Murray Energy Corp.'s defamation suit against HBO comedian John Oliver over his segment blasting company CEO Bob Murray, deciding that because enough of the companies involved were based in the same state, diversity jurisdiction could not be established.
