Ex-Pruitt Aide Saw Punishment For Ethics Flags, Dems Say

Law360 (April 12, 2018, 8:54 PM EDT) -- A former top aide to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt said he and others were punished with demotion, marginalization and threats when they raised concerns about possible ethics problems related to Pruitt’s spending and management, several congressional Democrats said Thursday.

In letters to President Donald Trump and Pruitt, Democratic representatives and senators said Kevin Chmielewski, a former EPA deputy chief of staff for operations, told them he witnessed several types of mismanagement and overspending as well as retaliation when staffers objected.
