US Looks To Bring Tuna Labeling In Line With WTO

Law360, New York (April 5, 2013, 4:55 PM EDT) -- The National Marine Fisheries Service on Friday proposed changes to labeling regulations for dolphin-safe tuna, a move designed to bring the U.S. in line with a World Trade Organization ruling that found the existing requirements violated the country's international trade obligations.

The NMFS, a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, said in a federal register notice that it had proposed a rule to modify certification, storage and reporting requirements pertaining to tuna products subject to regulation under the Dolphin Protection...
