Exxon Hit With Class Action Over Ark. Pipeline Rupture

Law360, New York (April 5, 2013, 6:36 PM EDT) -- Exxon Mobil Corp. was hit with a proposed class action in Arkansas federal court Friday, accusing the oil giant of causing significant environmental and economic damage as a result of a recent oil spill from its Pegasus pipeline.

According to plaintiffs Kathryn Chunn and Kimla Greene, the March 29 rupture of the allegedly defective pipeline in Mayflower, Ark., was the result of negligent operation, monitoring and maintenance by Exxon and two of its subsidiaries.
