EPA To Offer Early Buyouts To Reduce Staff

Law360, New York (April 19, 2017, 7:21 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency confirmed Wednesday it has begun the process of setting up an early buyout program for employees, in order to comply with White House guidance that federal agencies reduce their workforces.

In a letter sent to EPA employees Monday and provided to Law360 Wednesday, acting Deputy Administrator Michael Flynn said the buyout program was initiated to comply with an Office of Management and Budget memorandum regarding its comprehensive plan for “reforming the federal government and reducing the workforce.” The letter said the...
