Enviros Look To Step Into Battle Over Atlantic Airgun Tests

Law360, New York (May 2, 2017, 8:07 PM EDT) -- Conservation groups asked Monday to join consolidated challenges at the U.S. Department of the Interior Board of Land Appeals to the government’s denial of permit applications to conduct seismic testing off the Atlantic coast, seeking to protect their interests by making sure those denials are upheld.

The Natural Resources Defense Council Inc., North Carolina Coastal Federation, South Carolina Coastal Conservation League, One Hundred Miles, Defenders of Wildlife and Center for Biological Diversity filed a motion to intervene in IBLA proceedings over the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s January decision to deny applications to conduct airgun seismic surveys in the Atlantic....
