Ex-DOJ Enviro Chief Fears Politics, Budget Will Defang EPA

Uhlmann on Wednesday told a forum that politicization of environmental policy and budget constraints could increasingly hamper enforcement, especially given the Trump administration’s trajectory.

Uhlmann, now a law professor at the University of Michigan, said he is “deeply concerned” by attacks on a nonpartisan tradition at the Justice Department and “allegiance to good science” at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under President Donald Trump.
