MINUTE ENTRY AND ORDER: A Telephone Conference was held before Magistrate Judge Peggy Kuo on July 31, 2026. Christopher Schueller, Esq. appeared on behalf of Plaintiff. William Zou, Esq. appeared on behalf of Defendants.
The parties were heard on the 17 Motion to Appoint Receivership (the "Motion").
Defendants stated that their financial situation is improving because the Property no longer has vacant units. However, they have not paid real estate taxes or made payments towards the mortgage. Defendants stated that they are willing to engage in settlement discussions with Plaintiff, including possible refinancing.
The parties are directed to confer regarding whether settlement discussions are likely to be productive and file a joint status report, no later than August 7, 2026, indicating whether the Motion will be withdrawn, stayed, or should proceed. If the Motion is not withdrawn, the joint status report must also include the qualifications of Deborah Reigel, Plaintiffs proposed receiver.
