MINUTES for proceedings held before Magistrate Judge Thomas P LeBlanc: A STATUS CONFERENCE was held on 8/17/2026. Participating by telephone were: Megan Cole Misko and David Harmon Hanchey on behalf of Odilon Gonzales and Sylvia Avila; Christopher L Zaunbrecher on behalf of Louisiana Scrap Metals Recycling Lake Charles LLC; Tucker Tyler Bohren on behalf of Scottsdale Insurance Co; Alexis Topel Lozes on behalf of Everest National Insurance Co; Philip C Brickman on behalf of Stonington Insurance Co; and Hayden Dallas Presley on behalf of C P Contractors LLC.
Attorney Presley is not enrolled as counsel of record in this matter; however, he confirmed he had authority to bind his law firm and his client to any matters that may arise during the Status Conference, and all other parties consented to his participation. Attorney Presley was ordered to file a motion to enroll as additional counsel of record in this matter by close of business on 8/18/2026. The Status Conference proceeded.
All parties advised they will be ready to proceed with trial as currently scheduled, and none of the parties raised any issues to the court. The parties anticipate trial in this matter will take 3 to 4 days. A mediation is scheduled on 9/29/2026 with all remaining parties. The court urged the parties to pursue informal resolution and advised that, if such efforts are unsuccessful, they may contact chambers for assistance if all believe this may be helpful.
