ORDER: This matter is before the Court for case management. Upon review of the parties' briefing addressing the resolution of damages as to the defaulted defendants, the Court, in its discretion, finds that a jury trial is the best means for assessing damages in the instant case. The Court further finds that given the status of discovery, the current trial setting is no longer feasible. Accordingly, the Court ORDERS as follows. Plaintiffs' request for a damages-only jury trial as to the defaulted Defendants Robert Betts and City of East St. Louis is GRANTED. The jury trial date as to ALL Defendants is reset. The Final Pretrial Conference is reset for January 7, 2027 at 10:00 AM and Jury Trial is reset for Tuesday, January 19, 2027 at 9:00 AM both in the East St. Louis Courthouse before Judge David W. Dugan. As to the defaulted Defendants Robert Betts and the City of East St. Louis, the jury trial shall be limited to the assessment of damages only.
