   ORDER: The Court is in receipt of the parties' status report 22 , which represents that although fact discovery is not yet complete, the parties have agreed to private mediation to attempt a resolution prior to conducting additional discovery, and a mediation is scheduled for 9/14/2026. The Court interprets this update as a request to stay the current discovery schedule, which is granted, nunc pro tunc. The Court reminds counsel, however, that at the initial conference, the Court ordered a discovery schedule and directed the parties that should they seek an extension of any deadline, they were to file a letter motion requesting such an extension. Court orders are not optional.

   By 9/22/2026, the parties are directed to file a joint status report, apprising the Court of whether the case was settled in mediation and, if so, proposing a deadline by which the parties shall file a stipulation of dismissal. In the event that the case does not settle, the parties are directed to propose a modest, agreed-upon extension of the discovery deadlines set in the 2/25/2026 initial conference.
