ORDER: The Court is in receipt of Defendant Walker's letter 44 , requesting an additional 30 to 60 days to obtain counsel. In light of Defendant Walker's representation that she does not wish to proceed pro se and that NYLAG is currently reviewing documents to potentially assist her, the request is granted in part. Defendant Walker is respectfully directed to have counsel enter an appearance by 10/15/2026. Defendant Walker is warned that this is Defendant's last extension of time to secure an attorney. If no counsel on behalf of Defendant Walker enters an appearance by 10/15/2026, then by 10/16/2026, Defendant Walker is directed to send a letter to the E.D.N.Y. Pro Se Office, indicating her intent to proceed pro se. Defendant Walker's answer deadline is extended to 10/20/2026. Defendant Walker is reminded for the final time that if she is not able to secure counsel, and does not proceed pro se, she may be found to be in default and that a default judgment could be entered against her.
In light of the foregoing, Plaintiff's 9/8/2026 deadline to submit a status report is adjourned, sine die. Plaintiff is respectfully directed to provide this order to Defendant Walker and to file proof of same by 9/11/2026. The Clerk of Court is respectfully directed to mail this order and the full docket sheet to Defendant Walker at 194-15 120th Ave., Saint Albans, NY 11412. Ordered by Magistrate Judge Taryn A.
