RESPONSE TO ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE by Order of the Court filed by ROY ARNOLD, JR. (ARNOLD, ROY)
Order on Motion to Dismiss
MINUTE ORDER granting the plaintiff's 124 Consent Motion to Dismiss Defendants William Payne and the Law Firm of Payne and Associates with Prejudice. Accordingly, it is ORDERED that the plaintiff's claims against defendants William Payne and the Law Firm of Payne and Associates are dismissed with prejudice. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 41(a)(2); United States v. All Assets Held at Bank Julius Baer & Co., 307 F.R.D. 249, 252 (D.D.C. 2014) ("Although the Rule's text refers to 'an action,' most federal courts agree that parties may voluntarily dismiss from a case only certain defendants.").On January 22, 2026, the Court denied the plaintiff's 52 53 Motions for Default Judgment as to defendants James B. Thomas and Leah Walker. Defendant Paloma Holmes has not appeared in this case, and the plaintiff has not filed a motion for default judgment against her. Accordingly, it is ORDERED that the plaintiff show cause on or before July 2, 2026, why this Court should not dismiss his claims against Holmes and close this case.So Ordered by Judge Dabney L. Friedrich on June 28, 2026. (lcdlf1)
