Order ~Util - Set/Reset Deadlines 1 - Terminate Deadlines and Hearings
TEXT ORDER: The parties' 19 proposed discovery plan does not comply with Part II of the Court's Standing Order, which provides that a dispositive-motion deadline should generally be within one year of the Rule 16 scheduling conference and that a plan proposing a later deadline must state the reasons for the extended schedule. The parties propose a dispositive-motion deadline more than one year after the Rule 16 scheduling conference without providing any explanation. In addition, the proposed September 1, 2027 dispositive-motion deadline precedes the May 1, 2028 deadline for completing discovery and therefore appears to be erroneous. The Rule 16 scheduling conference set for August 21, 2026, is VACATED. The parties shall confer and file, on or before August 25, 2026, an amended discovery plan that complies with Part II of the Standing Order and provides accurate, internally consistent deadlines. The Court will reset the Rule 16 scheduling conference, if necessary, after reviewing the amended plan. Entered by Magistrate Judge Ronald L. Hanna on August 18, 2026. (NL)
