1 - Scheduling
ORDER: The Court is in receipt of a letter dated June 29, 2026, from Plaintiff's counsel outlining continued discovery issues, and response letters from new counsel for Defendants Fletcher, Welby, Niles, and Zimbrick dated July 2, 2026. In light of the substitution of counsel for Defendants Fletcher, Welby, Niles, and Zimbrick, the Court instructs the parties to confer and jointly propose a reasonable case schedule (including any adjustments for depositions) within seven days to move this case forward expeditiously but with sufficient time for new counsel to get acquainted with the history and record of this case.
The Court further instructs counsel for Plaintiff, Defendant CRFR, the Union Defendants, and Defendant Rhonda Melton to continue to confer on the issues outlined by Plaintiff.
As to the outstanding discovery from the individual CRFR Defendants, the Court finds it troubling that Plaintiff has not narrowed his discovery consistent with the Court's prior order and guidance on the record. For example, the Court stated on the record at the parties' telephonic conference on May 12, 2026, several examples of Plaintiff's overbroad requests and compound interrogatories. See, e.g., Tr. 11:21--12:7 (explaining the standard by which an interrogatory is considered compound); Tr. 33:8 (describing Plaintiff's requests for the CRFR Defendants' location data as "asking for too much information"), ECF No. 91 . The Court therefore reminds Plaintiff's counsel to comply with the Court's previous order and guidance, and Defendants' counsel to comply with all discovery obligations. Ordered by Judge Amy M. Baggio. (mja)
