Pending before the Court is Plaintiff's Motion to Extend Pretrial Deadlines and Memorandum in Support. ECF No. 81 . The Motion does not comply with Local Rule 26-6(c), which requires the moving party not only to meet and confer with opposing counsel in good faith prior to filing a discovery motion, but to submit a declaration "setting forth the details and results of the meet and confer conference." Here, Plaintiff states in a footnote that Defendant did not agree to the proposed extension, but there is no discussion of the contents of the meet and confer or efforts to come to agreement. Extensions of discovery are a routine part of civil litigation. While there may be times for one party to cease agreeing to extend, efforts to compromise and find agreement are the hallmark of civility. The Court expects the parties to engage in true good faith, not facial good faith, efforts to meet and confer.
Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Plaintiff's Motion to Extend Pretrial Deadlines and Memorandum in Support (ECF No. 81 ) is DENIED without prejudice.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the parties must meet and confer in earnest, through face-to-face communications either in person or over video conferencing, regarding the subject matter of Plaintiff's Motion to Extend. The meet and confer must take place no later than August 27, 2026. If the parties cannot come to an agreement, Plaintiff may refile its Motion.
