MINUTE entry before the Honorable LaShonda A. Hunt: The Court has reviewed Plaintiff's motion to reset the trial to the October 2026 date 490 , which Defendants oppose. Obviously, the Court was not aware on 9/14/26 when it struck the October stand-by trial date that the Bresnahan trial would not proceed as scheduled on 9/28/26. Indeed, the Court did not determine until the afternoon of 9/18/26 that the trial date would need to be reset. At that time, the Court also looked into whether the Weston trial could begin on 10/5/26, as previously contemplated. However, after considering logistical questions about the availability of prospective jurors for the entire timeframe, fairness to both sides with another change, and the confirmed trial date in five months, the Court erred on the side of keeping things as is. Certainly, the intent was to prioritize these older cases for trial in October, and it is disappointing from a scheduling perspective that neither one can go forward right now. The Court apologizes for the inconvenience to all parties and counsel. For those reasons, the motion 290 is denied. The motion hearing set for 9/24/26 491 is stricken.
