ELECTRONIC ORDER: The Court has considered the parties pre-trial filings. Accordingly, the Court will give each side 6 hours of trial time. Time that counts against a party includes time questioning a witness, opening, closing, and time spent arguing objections that the party loses. The Court retains the power to award either or both sides additional time on a showing of an efficient use of its time and a compelling need for the additional time.The Court also has a criminal trial scheduled for October 5, 2026. If the criminal trial goes forward, that trial will take precedence. The Court will update the parties about the status of this trial by September 30, 2026, at 5:00 pm. Should the trial begin on October 5, 2026, the Court plans to use the following schedule: Monday - Start trial at 1:30 pm and end at 5 pm with one or two 10 minute afternoon breaks. Tuesday and Wednesday (if necessary) - Start trial at 8:30 am, lunch at 12 pm, resume after lunch at 12:45 pm, and end at 5 pm. The Court also will take one morning break and two afternoon breaks of approximately 10 minutes each on Tuesday and Wednesday. (Ordered by Judge Brantley Starr on 9/24/2026) (chmb)
