   (In Chambers) Order by Judge Stanley Blumenfeld, Jr.: Counsel for both sides have requested to appear remotely at the August 28 mandatory scheduling conference (MSC), both citing travel time from Northern California (even though Plaintiff's counsel lists a Los Angeles address on the docket). Defense counsel Marcie Fitzsimmons also identifies a scheduling conflict as one reason for her request. The Court requires the presence of lead counsel at the MSC and all other proceedings set by the Court. Dkt. No. 7 at 2; Dkt. No. 8 at 3. The docket reflects that Nikayla Johnson is lead counsel for Defendant. If, as appears to be the case from the joint report, Fitzsimmons is lead counsel, she shall promptly update the docket. Otherwise, Johnson is required to attend. Regardless, the requests for remote appearance are denied. All hearings are in person absent good cause. The location of counsel's office or residence generally does not constitute good cause (as the exception otherwise would swallow the rule).
