MINUTES OF Scheduling Conference held before Magistrate Judge Karen L. Stevenson. Case called. Counsel state their appearances. Plaintiff in this civil rights action is now represented by new pro bono counsel. Plaintiffs counsel states that she has been unable to obtain transcripts of depositions taken earlier in the case, as well as other discovery including an autopsy report, because prior counsel made no effort to obtain this discovery. Therefore, Plaintiff wishes to bring a motion to re-open discovery for limited purposes. Defendants oppose such a motion.The Court, in the interests of justice, will allow Plaintiff to bring an expedited motion to re-open discovery on the following schedule Plaintiff may file a Motion to Reopen Discovery for limited purposes on or before August 18, 2026; City of Los Angeles shall file an Opposition on or before September 1, 2026. City of Glendora can join in that opposition; and Plaintiff's reply is due on or before September 8, 2026.
