Settlement
Unopposed MOTION for Settlement Approval of Minor Settlement by All Plaintiffs. (Attachments: # 1 Exhibit A - Plaintiff's Medical Records, # 2 Exhibit B - Draft Closing Statement)(Gonzalez-Monge, Jessica) Motions referred to Magistrate Judge Nicholas P. Mizell.
Sealed Order on Motion to Seal
ENDORSED ORDER granting in part 52 Plaintiffs' unopposed motion to file under seal an unopposed motion to approve the settlement of a minor's claim. Until further order of the court, the CLERK SHALL maintain under seal Doc. 52-2 because it contains x-rays with unredacted personal information. The court's adjudication of any issue, including the propriety of a settlement, is a public affair. There is no need to seal or redact any portion of the motion to approve the settlement (Doc. 52-1) or the closing statement (Doc. 52-3). And by omitting the x-rays and retaining the redactions in the medical records (Doc. 52-2), the minor's privacy interests are adequately protected. To obtain approval of the settlement, Plaintiffs shall separately file on the public docket the motion to approve the settlement and its currently redacted exhibits (without the x-rays). Signed by Magistrate Judge Nicholas P. Mizell on 7/27/2026. (TLP)
