ORDER finding as moot (182) Motion for Hearing in case 2:24-cv-01361-MHH per Doc. 186 . Signed by Judge Madeline Hughes Haikala on July 3, 2026. Associated Cases: 2:24-cv-01361-MHH, 2:25-cv-00297-MHH(Haikala, Madeline) (Entered: 07/03/2026)
ORDER. Consistent with the conversation during the July 2, 2026 hearing in this matter, to preserve the resources of the parties and the courts, the Court orders Mr. Beaulieu and the Shelby County defendants to participate in a global mediation before Magistrate Judge Gray M. Borden. The mediation shall address the seven actions pending among these parties in an attempt to resolve the seven cases, many of which have interlocutory/Rule 54(b) appeals pending. Judge Borden will provide instructions regarding the mediation. This case is stayed until 15 days after the completion of the mediation. At the conclusion of mediation, Mr. Beaulieu and the Shelby County defendants shall file a joint report updating the Court on the status of their mediation efforts. The Court anticipates that a settlement between Mr. Beaulieu and the Shelby County defendants likely will resolve the litigation as to all defendants in these actions or, at a minimum, will provide a path for a subsequent mediation for the private defendants. Signed by Judge Madeline Hughes Haikala on July 3, 2026. Associated Cases: 2:24-cv-01361-MHH, 2:25-cv-00297-MHH(Haikala, Madeline) (Entered: 07/03/2026)
