Settlement Conference
Minute entry for proceedings held before Magistrate Judge Clay H. Kaminsky: A settlement conference was held in person on July 29, 2026. Martin Druyan appeared with Plaintiff Zheng Shi. Steve Levy appeared on behalf of the defendant Davinder Singh; he shall refile his notice of appearance promptly using his own account. The Court admonished defendants for the failure of Defendant Singh and the insurance representative to appear in person as specifically directed in this Court's May 29, 2026 Order.
Plaintiff's counsel shall provide defendants with an accounting of the expenses that Mr. Druyan and Mr. Shi incurred in appeared at today's conference by July 31, 2026. Defendants shall either reimburse Plaintiff's for those expenses-which were incurred in vain due to Defendant's failure to bring the specifically required persons with full decision-making authority to the settlement conferenceby August 7, 2026 or shall show cause why they should not be required to do so by the same date.
The parties were also directed to file a joint status letter by August 7, 2026 regarding their settlement discussions and providing the parties' availability in September 2026 for a settlement conference in which all decision-makers must appear. (FTR Log # 2:06 p.m. - 2:22 p.m.) (STH)
