3 - Set Ripe Deadline
EO: The Court reviewed City Defendants' 267 Motion to Withdraw as Counsel and Motion to Stay Discovery Pending Appointment of New Counsel (Motion). The Motion "request[s] a stay of proceedings" and "request[s] to stay discovery with respect to the City Defendants." ECF No. 267 2, 5. The Motion also seeks approval of the withdrawal of counsel. Id. at 2.
First, as to the City Defendants' request to stay proceedings or to stay discovery, this request is DENIED because the Motion does not state whether counsel met and conferred as required by Local Rule 7.8 (requiring counsel to "discuss thoroughly... the substance of the [Motion] and any potential partial or complete resolution").
Second, as to counsel's request to withdraw of counsel, any opposition shall be filed by 7/7/2026; any reply shall be filed by 7/13/2026.
