Petition
PETITION for Writ of Habeas Corpus ( Filing fee $ 5 receipt number ANJDC-17608266.), filed by MARCO ANTONIO MOTA. (Attachments: # 1 Civil Cover Sheet)(ROMERO, CUSTODIO) (Entered: 07/01/2026)
Habeas Corpus - Alien Detainee | New Jersey
Text Order
TEXT ORDER - The Court has determined that the Petition in this matter is duplicative of the Petition filed by the same Petitioner in BOC ESQUIT v. WILSON et al., Civil Action No. 26-7980, and concerns the same underlying immigration detention. Federal courts possess the inherent authority to dismiss duplicative actions in order to promote judicial economy and the comprehensive disposition of litigation. See Walton v. Eaton Corp., 563 F.2d 66, 70-71 (3d Cir. 1977) (en banc). Because the Court is resolving Petitioner's claims and granting appropriate relief in BOC ESQUIT v. WILSON et al., Civil Action No. 26-7980, no further proceedings are necessary in this action. Accordingly, the Clerk shall CLOSE this case. So Ordered by Judge Karen M. Williams on July 1, 2026. (Williams, Karen)
