MINUTE entry before the Honorable M. David Weisman: Magistrate status hearing held. Court has reviewed the joint status report. Defendant will likely attach affidavits from Mr. McCabe, Bob Bloomberg, and Mr. Roth in support of its motion for summary judgment. Defendant's preference is to have Plaintiff take depositions prior to summary judgment briefing. Court generally explained the discovery process and how it relates to summary judgment. The Court referred to the process as described in Fed. R. Civ. P. 56. Further, the Court reminds Defendant of its obligations under Local Rule 56.2 (Notice to Unrepresented Litigants Opposing Summary Judgment) when it files any motion for summary judgment. Exercising the Court's broad discretion, the Court finds Defendant's proposal reasonable. Considering Plaintiff's pro se status, the Court directs that Plaintiff complete depositions by 12/18/26. Parties to confer about dates for depositions. Status hearing set for 11/4/26 at 1:30 p.m. Joint status report due by noon on 11/3/26 setting forth confirmed deposition dates for the three witnesses. (PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE FOR HEARING.) Mailed notice (ao, ) (Entered: 09/30/2026)
