ELECTRONIC ORDER denying 893 Motion for Leave to File. Before the Court is Defendant Barton's Motion for Leave to File Supplement to Consolidated Response and Objection. (Doc. 893 ). Under Local Rule 7.1, movants are required to confer with opposing counsel to determine whether the motion is opposed and then advise the Court accordingly. Here, Mr. Barton represented to the Court that he "conferred by e-mail with counsel" for the Receiver and SPC, and that "SPC status is not known at the time of filing this motion". Emailing opposing counsel without waiting for a response is not a conference under Local Rule 7.1. Furthermore, per the Receiver's response (Doc. 895 ), Barton only conferred with the Receiver about filing a supplement to the Receiver's appendix, not to SPC's response. But Barton's proposed supplement largely contains responses to SPC's response. So Barton's conference with the Receiver is also an insufficient conference under Local Rule 7.1 because it did not disclose what Barton sought to file. The Court does not find good cause for allowing Barton to file yet another motion or response here. Accordingly, the Court DENIES Barton's motion for leave. (Doc. 893 ).
