Status Conference
Minute entry for proceedings held before Judge Nicholas G. Garaufis: Status conference held on July 14, 2026. Counsel for Plaintiffs-Intervenors and counsel for Defendant City of New York present. Court Monitor present. Fire Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore present. Peter Gleason, an attorney, presented claims unrelated to the 765 Modified Remedial Injunctive Order. The court advised Mr. Gleason about the scope of its jurisdiction in the matter, which does not extend to these claims, and that he was not one of the attorneys approved by the Remedial Order to represent Plaintiffs in this case. The court thanked Mr. Gleason and his clients for their time. The parties discussed staffing the EEO office, including the appointment of a new director, candidate recruitment, and the new Long Island City practice and testing center for CPAT. The court directed the Court Monitor to advise the court of any potential disparities identified from the new CPAT data. The parties also discussed the climate survey and the wind-down of the court's monitorship, which may include a one-year "cool down" period. The court scheduled the next status conference for Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 2:30 P.M. in Courtroom 10B South. (Court Reporter: Charlene Ross) (EB)
