ORDER GRANTING in PART 38 Motion to Postpone the Entry of Judgment: The United States seeks to postpone entry of judgment indicating that the Torts Branch attorney assigned to the matter suffered a medical emergency, delaying the approval process. The United States seeks an additional 90 days to finalize the settlement. Plaintiff is opposed. Plaintiff contends that, given her medical condition, she would be substantially prejudiced by the requested extension. She further argues that the United States has not acted diligently and therefore cannot establish good cause for the requested extension. Although the Court is sympathetic to Plaintiff's serious medical condition and the potential prejudice from further delay, the unforeseen medical emergency and resulting reassignment constitute good cause for a limited extension. Accordingly, entry of judgment is postponed for sixty (60) days (entry of Judgment postponed until 9/8/2026). The United States shall file a written status report on or before August 7, 2026. Signed by Judge David W. Dugan on 7/8/2026. (dmw2)THIS TEXT ENTRY IS AN ORDER OF THE COURT. NO FURTHER DOCUMENTATION WILL BE MAILED.
