   2 - Set Motion Deadlines/Hearings (inc F&R) Order on Motion for Extension of Time to File Response/Reply

   EO: On 9/18/2026, pro se non-party Michael Baskin ("Baskin") filed [ECF 78 ] Motion for Extension of Time to Respond to Plaintiff's Motion for Leave to Amend the Complaint [ECF No. 76] ("Motion"). The Court elects to decide the Motion without a hearing and without further briefing. Local Rules of Practice for the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii ("LR") 7.1(c).
   
   In the Motion, Baskin requests a 30-day extension of the 9/24/2026 deadline to file a response to [ECF 76 ] Plaintiff EEOC's Motion for Leave to Amend the Complaint ("Motion to Amend") and a corresponding 30-day continuance of the 10/22/2026 hearing date on the Motion to Amend. ECF No. 77; and ECF No. 78 at PageID.392-394. Baskin represents that Plaintiff EEOC objects to the Motion. Id. at PageID.394.
   
   Because the Motion to Amend seeks to add Baskin as a party, Baskin's pro se status does not prohibit him, as a non-party, from responding to the Motion to Amend. Accordingly, the Motion is GRANTED IN PART and DENIED IN PART as follows:

   1. GRANTED IN PART with respect to a 14-day extension of the response deadline and a corresponding 14-day continuance of the hearing on the Motion to Amend; and
   
   2. DENIED IN PART with respect to a 30-day extension of the response deadline and corresponding 30-day continuance of the hearing on the Motion to Amend.

   In light of the foregoing, the Court CONTINUES the hearing on the Motion to Amend from 10/22/2026 to 11/5/2026 at 10:00 a.m. before Magistrate Judge Trader.
   
   Response deadline is EXTENDED from 9/24/2026 to 10/8/2026.
   Reply deadline is EXTENDED from 10/1/2026 to 10/15/2026.
