ORDER re: 71 Motion to Amend Procedural Order: On July 20, 2026, the United States of America filed its third motion to amend procedural order to extend time to seek declaration of forfeiture (ECF No. 71), asking that the Court extend the time for the United States to seek entry of a declaration of forfeiture to September 3, 2026. The United States filed its complaint against 414 Kennebec Road, Machias, Maine on May 9, 2024. As the United States' July 20, 2026 motion details, the United States has been unable to fully resolve this case despite efforts to settle it. On March 20, 2026, Attorney Sweatt informed the Clerk's Office that the parties had settled the case, and on March 20, 2026, the Court ordered the parties to complete the settlement within thirty days or by April 20, 2026. (ECF No. 71). The parties have been unsuccessful in resolving the case, despite multiple extensions. Although the Court is granting this motion to extend, the Court places counsel on notice that it expects the parties to place this matter high on their priority list and to have finally resolved the case by September 4, 2026.
