Medline Seeks To Avoid Bill For Surgical Mesh Suits

By Bibeka Shrestha (December 7, 2011, 3:10 PM EST) -- Medline Industries Inc. sued a medical product supplier in Illinois on Tuesday, arguing the supplier was contractually obligated to cover Medline's legal bills in suits over health injuries allegedly stemming from counterfeit C.R. Bard Inc.-branded surgical mesh.

Medline Industries and defendant Ram Medical Inc. have been slapped with at least five lawsuits, including two class actions, over counterfeit Bard mesh, and still more legal action has been threatened, according to Medline's complaint in Illinois federal court.
