MDL Panel Sends Surgical Mesh Battles To W.Va.

By Keith Goldberg (February 7, 2012, 7:05 PM EST) -- Three separate multidistrict litigations accusing medical device makers of manufacturing mesh surgical products for stress urinary incontinence that caused severe damage and pain will be heard in West Virginia federal court, a judicial panel said Tuesday.

The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation centralized the MDLs involving Endo Pharmaceuticals unit American Medical Systems Holdings Inc., Boston Scientific Corp. and Johnson & Johnson unit Ethicon Inc. — MDL numbers 2325, 2326 and 2327, respectively — in the Southern District of West Virginia.
