ICE Arrests 78 In 5-State Sweep Across Midwest

Law360 (May 16, 2018, 8:05 PM EDT) -- U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 78 undocumented immigrants in a five-state sweep last week in the Midwest, ICE officials announced Tuesday, as part of the Trump administration's attempt to crack down on illegal immigration in the name of public safety.

According to ICE, 62 of the 78 undocumented immigrants arrested by ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations over six days, including 72 men and six women, had prior criminal convictions, including assault, arson, drug possession and theft.
