Former Immigration Judges Tear Into 'Shocking' EOIR Paper
Law360 (May 13, 2019, 7:56 PM EDT) -- Dozens of former immigration judges on Monday condemned a recent Executive Office of Immigration Review factsheet aiming to debunk what it referred to as immigration “myths,” saying it perpetuates “wildly inaccurate and misleading information” and amounts to "propaganda."
Writing in a letter to the agency’s director, the former judges asserted the factsheet oversteps the EOIR’s mission to uphold the independence of immigration judges across the immigration courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer. They said the factsheet, even if taken as factually correct, undermines public confidence in the integrity of the immigration courts...
