NY AG Indicts Engineering Co. For Hurricane Sandy Fraud

Law360, Boston (August 1, 2016, 8:34 PM EDT) -- A New York engineering firm and one of its former employees were charged in an indictment unsealed Monday with forgery in an alleged scheme to alter engineering reports assessing Hurricane Sandy damage to properties covered under the National Flood Insurance Program. 

HiRise Engineering PC and former employee Matthew Pappalardo were charged with 25 counts of forgery, a class D felony, according to New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. Pappalardo, 38, was also charged with 25 counts of unauthorized practice of engineering, a class E felony....
