Dispute Resolution Org Issues New Int'l Mediation Procedure
Law360, New York (March 16, 2017, 5:52 PM EDT) -- The International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution announced Wednesday that it's launched a new international mediation procedure that provides ground rules for the proceeding and selection of the mediator, as well as for the exchange of information during the proceeding and confidentiality measures.
The new procedure will streamline earlier procedures created for Europe and Brazil, and can be used anywhere in the world, according to CPR, a nonprofit organization that helps global businesses resolve commercial disputes effectively and efficiently. The announcement comes as the popularity of mediation has increased as an alternative to costly and time-consuming international arbitration.
