Commerce Finalizes 3.6% Tariff On Resin Imports From India

Law360 (May 16, 2018, 6:56 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce on Tuesday announced it would implement modest tariffs of 3.6 percent on imports of certain nonstick resin from India that often coats cookware, after initially finding back in March that producers there had received illegal government subsidies.

The final determination of countervailing duties by Commerce is the result of an investigation launched back in October after domestic producer The Chemours Co. alleged Indian producers and exporters of polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE, resin had received assistance from the Indian government.
