Turkey Blocks US Bid For WTO Panel In Metal Tariff Fight

Law360 (January 11, 2019, 7:54 PM EST) -- Turkey blocked the United States’ bid to establish a World Trade Organization panel to consider a set of Turkish retaliatory duties on Friday, as the Trump administration continues to fight back against countries who have slapped levies on American goods in response to U.S. metal tariffs.

At a meeting in Geneva, the Turkish delegation blocked the U.S.' first request to establish a dispute panel to rule on whether Turkey's additional duties are out of step with global trade agreements.
