The last round of U.S.-China negotiations wrapped at the end of July with both sides indicating they were on a positive trajectory and agreeing to meet in September for another session. But that soon gave way to another tariff threat from Trump on $300 billion worth of Chinese goods and the bombshell move to label China a currency manipulator.
