As Congress Returns, Tech Cos. Rally For NAFTA 2.0 Passage

Law360 (September 9, 2019, 3:27 PM EDT) -- Lawmakers returning to Capitol Hill from a monthlong recess Monday received a call from a collection of tech industry leaders to quickly ratify the Trump administration’s renegotiated North American Free Trade Agreement, which contains a new chapter meant to facilitate digital trade.

A coalition of industry groups including the Internet Association — which counts Google, Amazon and Facebook among its members — sent an open letter to every member of Congress to hold a vote that will enter the new NAFTA, since rebranded the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, into force.
