Chinese Glycine Cos. Can't Trim Anti-Dumping Duties

Law360, Chicago (April 7, 2015, 9:02 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has reached preliminarily findings against two Chinese glycine producers that were lobbying to reduce the anti-dumping duties levied against their imports.

The review by Commerce's International Trade Administration found that Baoding Mantong Fine Chemistry Co. Ltd. sold glycine in the U.S. at prices below normal value during a yearlong period beginning in March 2013, resulting in an anti-dumping duty margin of 784.48 percent for the period, according to a notice to be published Wednesday in the Federal Register.

The agency also decided to rescind a review requested by another Chinese glycine producer, Evonik Rexim Pharmaceutical Co....
