Feds Revise Export Controls On Spacecraft

Law360, Nashville (January 9, 2017, 6:26 PM EST) -- The U.S. departments of State and Commerce on Monday issued final rules adjusting export controls on satellites and other similar spacecraft and related equipment, loosening restrictions on exports of certain remote imaging devices, among other changes.

The two complementary rules collectively revise Category XV of the U.S. Munitions List to exclude certain items no longer deemed in need of control as defense items, and to move those items onto the Commerce Control List.
