US Probing Allegations Of Chinese Duty Dodging

Law360, New York (December 6, 2017, 12:08 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce is poised to open an investigation into allegations that a Chinese sawblade producer is directing its merchandise through Thailand in order to avoid hefty tariffs that have been placed on its products, the agency revealed Wednesday.

A Federal Register notice slated for publication Thursday said that Commerce is launching the probe at the behest of the Diamond Manufacturers Sawblade Coalition, which originally petitioned for the anti-dumping duties installed in 2009 and has been striving to ensure the tariffs are properly enforced...
